A flower show in Ooty is a much sought-after tourist attraction, so much so that every year that it’s on, we always encounter heavily congested roads. All vehicles end up in bumper-to-bumper traffic, and some of them belong to our members who are on their way to our resort. Once a member was travelling from Bangalore to our resort in Ooty along with his family, when about 5 kms from the resort they got stuck in traffic. It had been almost two hours that they were stranded with hungry kids.
The father called up the resort to ask us to keep some food ready for them, as they had skipped lunch already and the kids were very hungry. We realized the gravity of the situation and began planning a quick fix for the guests.
The kitchen team prepared some sandwiches to be packed for the family, while a member of our team quickly rode off on his bike to deliver it to them. When he reached their vehicle and introduced himself along with the offer of fresh sandwiches from the resort, they couldn’t believe their eyes. The kids were the most thrilled of all the guests; a mini picnic began in the middle of the traffic and the magic of family holidays was still on!
When the family finally made their way to the resort, they commended our excellent team work and service standards.
